Walk Rotes (Denia)

A walk of around 7 km that begins along the seafront and then climbs up to the Gero watchtower (16th century). Access to the tower is via a tarmac path in good condition, but very steep. From the tower, the path is less steep but much wilder, strewn with stones and rocks. Although demanding, this route is never dangerous. On the way back, we cross the famous “abandoned urbanisation of El Greco”, construction of which has been so delayed that the land on which it was to be built has been declared “unbuildable” and, despite lengthy legal proceedings, it is currently abandoned to squatters and the artists who painted its walls. Difficulty: 7/10
