Festival & Fiesta Calp

23rd June 2022 Hogueras de San Juan AT THE ARENAL-BOL BEACH St. John’s Eve. It has been celebrated in Calpe since 1991.  It is the shortest night of the year, coinciding with the summer solstice, when numerous rituals rooted in ancient customs take place. AT URBANIZACIÓN LA COMETA It has been celebrated since ancient times and is organized by a local family.
On the eve of the feast of St. John the Baptist, the patron saint of La Cometa, a bonfire is made from chairs, tables, and other unused objects, and is set alight in the evening to celebrate the arrival of summer.

16 July 2022 Vierge del Carmen The sailors organise a great festival in honour of their patron saint, the Virgen del Carmen, and it is the fishermen’s brotherhood that schedules the various ceremonies.

5 august 2022 Our Lady Virgin of the Snows A festival in honour of the Virgin of the Snows, the patron saint of Calpe, organised by the Festivities Committee, with the Queen in the main role and the courts of honour of four generations: children, adolescents, adults and senior citizens.

16, 17 et 18 septembre 2022 Festival Nuestra Señora de la Merced The Nuestra Señora de la Merced parish festivities are organised by “Els Festers de la Mercè” in collaboration with the Calp Town Council.
They are made up of various acts that take place in September.
On the first weekend of September, the proclamation of the festivities takes place, always offered by a person chosen annually by the parish. Then the novena in honour of Our Lady begins.
The feasts themselves usually take place on the third weekend in September.

26 21, 22, 23  october 2022 Moros y Cristianos Santísimo Cristo Del Sudor Patronal festivities, of Moors and Christians in honour of the Santísimo Cristo del Sudor, organised by the Moors and Christians Association, in collaboration with the Festivities Committee, which combine religious, popular and historical events with splendour and devotion.
